In last times instalment, we had a look at the Dunlop Jazz III pick. This time we get down to the nitty gritty and hear what they actually sound like.
For this example, I used a Gibson SG Standard with a Burstbucker humbucker in the bridge position and a Fender 50 Classic Players with a 57/62 at the middle position.
These were recorded clean using a Focusrite Saffire LE interface into Cakewalk Sonar.
Note: any clipping or glitches in the playback are because of my PC acting up.
In order the picks used are
- Max Grip
- Eric Johnson
- Jazz III Red
- Tortex Black
- Jazz III BLack
- Gibson H
- Tortex III .88
I included the Gibson H to compare the Jazz III types against a standard nylon pick.
The sound clips have comments identifying each pick.
OK, so that's what they sound like, now excluding the playing and glitches, let's be hearing your opinions...
